What Karta Does
The Problem
Youth from India's most underprivileged and marginalized communities fail to access quality education and subsequent workplace opportunities. The weakest link is the transition of such children from school to university and then to well-meaning livelihoods. In the absence of adequate awareness, financial resources, and weak orientation towards 21st century and market-ready skills; talented youth fail to realize their full potential and are forced to go back to either their traditional family occupations or settle into sub-optimal career choices, thereby reinforcing their marginalization across generations. Further, universities, corporations and other organizations also lose out on top talent as a consequence.
Our Solution
We believe that equitable higher education and workplace readiness is the way to get communities out of the inter-generational cycle of marginalization irreversibly.
What do we do?
- Karta adopts a holistic approach spanning 5 to 8 years equalizing access to opportunity for low-resource rural youth, transforming their life outcomes.
- Bridges the opportunity gap faced by youth (14–25 year age group) from marginalized communities to help them realize their talent.
- Enable and empower employers and educational institutions to recruit and nurture talent from marginalized communities.
Young students in the age group of 14-19 years are using our tech platform - Karta Connect to transition from school to university.
